Welcome to the Spoken Word of Tulsa (SWOT) website.

SWOT would like to thank Tulsa and all the great folks who took part in the events of 2002, especially:

• The audience and participants in the WORD series of poetry slams last Spring
  

• The individuals and organizations which made the youth events so successful (Thunderbird Youth Academy, Nightingale Theatre, Greenwood Cultural Center). Lives were changed, hearts were touched, voices were heard, and the torch was passed.

• The artists and audiences of shows featuring SWOT members: (Remains of a Supernova- Karen Lacy, SMOKE - Nancy Harris, Mingo Glass, Tom Henry)

• Everyone who participated, attended, hosted, and in any way supported the Spoken Word scene in Tulsa during 2002.

We are looking forward to a GREAT 2003!

SWOT is going to be putting together a music event at the River City Market, called RiverJam. We are working toward another Thunderbird trip, and hope to put together a compilation CD before the year's end.
