Boy, howdy there sure are a lot of events and stuff going on in SWOT this month. And I thought December was going to be dead. Oh, yea, before I get to that -- don't forget to contact Steve Liggett at Living Arts if you have chapbooks to sell for the Objects D' Art sale. Now, on to the events and stuff
In the music scene, Sheri Booth will be performing at IV Play on December 27th
Movies for Poets Who Like Movies
For those of you who like movies, here's the latest from the AMC-20 theatre who has recently started really pushing indy film, thanks to its passionate film-buff manager, Troy Sageser:
Just wanted to touch base with all of you to let you know the status of our art films this season.
As I told you in Monday's e-mail, we will still have "Innocence" and "Amelie" this weekend. All others are gone as of tomorrow.
On Christmas Day, we will be dropping "Innocence," while "Amelie" will continue playing until at least 1/4.
As I look back over the year and see all the movies that we've been able to bring that normally wouldn't come to Tulsa, I want to make sure you know that I truly appreciate your interest and support that you've shown over the past months. Without many of you purchasing tickets to these smaller films--some of you even attending every single one we open--I wouldn't have been able to bring near the amount that we were able to play! (Plus the fact that as a major movie buff, I wouldn't have been able to see them either! :-) )
Please know that we are getting to the point where many of the smaller studios now consider AMC Southroads and Tulsa in general a good place to send their films. I look forward to all the independent movies we'll be able to bring over the following months, and I hope you do as well.
I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday, and I wish the best to you and your families this season!
As always, thanks for your patronage, and please tell your friends about this list. If you'd like me to add any of their e-mail addresses, send them to me!
